Dan Murphy is a partner in the firm’s Health Care Practice Group. Mr. Murphy’s practice focuses on healthcare industry regulation and transactions, as well as the representation of public and private companies in corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions.
Mr. Murphy has recently assisted and advised national healthcare companies, hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, diagnostic imaging facilities, physician practices and other clients in the following areas:
- private placements/syndications
- mergers and acquisitions
- obtaining certificates of need
- drafting and negotiating physician recruitment and employment agreements
- Medicare reimbursement and regulation
- corporate compliance programs and regulatory compliance reviews
Prior to joining Bradley Arant Boult Cummings, Mr. Murphy practiced international trade law in the Washington, D.C. office of White & Case LLP. Before attending law school, Mr. Murphy received a Fulbright teaching assistantship in Vienna, Austria. In addition, Mr. Murphy worked in the corporate finance department of a Fortune 500 medical products and biopharmaceuticals company, Baxter Healthcare Corporation, in Vienna, Austria and Illinois.
Mr. Murphy speaks and writes German. As an undergraduate, he served as the President and Pipe Major of the Notre Dame Bagpipe Band in South Bend, Indiana.
