Hall Eady is a partner in the firm’s Birmingham office and practices within the firm’s Litigation Practice Group, including the Financial Services Litigation, Commercial Litigation and Insurance Litigation practice groups.
Although Hall is a general litigator and regularly represents clients in trial and dispute resolution proceedings in a wide variety of litigation and pre-litigation matters, he currently devotes a significant portion of his litigation practice to representing lenders and financial institutions in pursuit of loss mitigation resulting from the current mortgage foreclosure crisis, including assisting with title claims (both claims process and litigation) and other loss mitigation claims, including claims deriving from servicing and correspondent agreements. Hall has collected millions of dollars for insureds over the past couple of years as part of his title insurance litigation practice resulting from the new title insurance claims environment caused, in part, by the mortgage foreclosure crisis. As part of his financial services litigation practice, Hall also defends mortgagees against wrongful foreclosure and related claims. Hall recently obtained summary judgment in favor of a lender against a multi-million dollar counterclaim asserted by a borrower as part of fraud and wrongful foreclosure claims.
