Katherine Henry is a Partner in the firm's D.C. office and is a member of the Litigation practice group. She represents policyholders in insurance coverage matters. She also provides clients with strategic advice and solutions for complex legal disputes outside of the insurance coverage arena. Ms. Henry is an effective appellate advocate and has appeared before numerous federal and state appellate courts, including en banc panels, on a wide variety of matters.

She also provides clients with strategic advice and solutions for complex legal disputes outside of the insurance coverage arena. Ms. Henry is an effective appellate advocate and has appeared before numerous federal and state appellate courts, including en banc panels, on a wide variety of matters.

In her policyholder coverage practice, Ms. Henry represents policyholders seeking insurance coverage for all types of liabilities, including D&O and E&O, mass torts (such as asbestos and environmental liabilities), welding fumes, managed-care, and first-party property damage. Her representation spans litigation, including bankruptcy-related proceedings, arbitration, mediation, regulatory proceedings before state insurance commissioners, and general counseling and advice on all insurance matters, including advice on negotiating terms and conditions for manuscript policies. She has represented clients in both the United States and in London on coverage matters. Ms. Henry's past and present policyholder clients include the world's largest automaker, the world's largest home improvement specialty retailer, a major utility company, numerous health care-related entities, a private-equity investment firm, several distributors of welding products, and a national trade association for the gases and welding industry.

In addition to her policyholder coverage practice, Ms. Henry provides clients with strategic advice and solutions for complex legal disputes. Her experience includes formulating a litigation and negotiation strategy that led to the industry-wide settlement of claims brought by the entire payphone industry as well as crafting a nationwide insurance coverage strategy for welding distributors.

Ms. Henry is also an effective appellate advocate and has appeared before numerous federal and state appellate courts, including en banc panels, on a wide variety of matters.

Ms. Henry has also represented clients in investigations by the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Office of Independent Counsel, and the Fish and Wildlife Service and before the GAO and the Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals.

Experience

Katherine represents clients in both the United States and in London on coverage matters. She has successfully resolved a major coverage dispute for the world’s largest automaker and for the gases and welding industry. She has also resolved an industry wide telecommunications dispute for payphone providers nationwide.

Katherine worked fulltime as an Intermediate Paramedic while attending college and as a real estate broker before attending law school. She is an avid dressage rider and trains at the Grand Prix level. Katherine and her husband Bill are the blessed parents of adorable identical twin daughters who keep their Mom and Dad happily busy.
