On Friday, October 9, 2009, Kevin Newsom, chair of the firm's appellate practice group, will speak to the annual meeting of the American Academy of Appellate Lawyers in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Alongside Mayer Brown's Andrew Frey, Bose McKenney's George Patton, and Justice at Stake's Bert Brandenburg, Kevin will particpate in a panel discussion titled "Judicial Election, Finance and Recusal Issues." The panel will focus on the U.S. Supreme Court's recent decision in Caperton v. A.T. Massey Coal Co. and the questions left open by that ruling.
