Lesley’s primary area of practice involves regulatory compliance issues facing financial institutions. Lesley has extensive experience advising financial institutions on consumer protection laws and regulations impacting their operations. She regularly advises financial institutions on such issues and develops forms, procedures and strategies for compliance. Also, she frequently advises clients on issues related to agency examinations and litigation matters. Lesley has advised institutions on both deposit and credit regulatory issues. She has worked with a variety of financial institutions including banks, mortgage companies and finance companies on state and federal issues.

She has worked with a variety of financial institutions including banks, mortgage companies and finance companies on state and federal issues.

Lesley’s primary area of practice involves regulatory compliance issues facing financial institutions. She works in both the Banking and Financial Services and Financial Services Litigation practice groups. Lesley has extensive experience advising financial institutions on consumer protection laws and regulations impacting their operations. She regularly advises financial institutions on such issues and develops forms, procedures and strategies for compliance. Also, she frequently advises clients on issues related to agency examinations and litigation matters. Lesley has advised institutions on both deposit and credit regulatory issues. She works with a variety of financial institutions including banks, mortgage companies, mortgage servicers and finance companies.

A large part of Lesley’s practice is devoted to advising clients with respect to compliance and disclosure issues under federal and state laws. One primary area of experience involves the application of the Truth in Lending Act and the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act in consumer home mortgage transactions. She regularly advises clients on the application of such laws in connection with product implementation, forms and other documentation, policies and procedures, regulatory examinations, advertising and litigation. She also advises clients in connection with a variety of other state and federal laws such as the FCRA, FDCPA, HMDA, HOEPA, predatory lending laws, foreclosure laws and the Alabama Mini-Code and Small Loan Act. Lesley also devotes a large part of her practice to advising clients with regard to mortgage loan servicing compliance issues She also advises clients with respect to various compliance issues related to customer notification in connection with the sale or purchase of financial institutions. 
 

Experience

Lesley regularly assists in litigation matters across the country with regard to federal and state consumer regulatory claims. She has worked on numerous mortgage foreclosure dispute cases. Lesley has also worked with both legal and business managers to develop procedures in response to various laws affecting the mortgage industry. She also has assisted in various sale and purchase transactions of financial institution assets with respect to regulatory requirements.
