Kimberly B. Martin

Partner

Kim Martin is Co-Chair of the firm's Life Sciences Practice Group.  She focuses her practice on general litigation with an emphasis on medical device and pharmaceutical products liability litigation. She also has a wide range of experience in representing media clients on First Amendment issues and defamation claims.  Kim also enjoys advising clients on labor and employment issues and has tried several employment discrimination cases.

She also has a wide range of experience in representing media clients on First Amendment issues and defamation claims.  Kim also enjoys advising clients on labor and employment issues and has tried several employment discrimination cases.

Kim's litigation experience has included the defense of a medical device manufacturer throughout the Southeast in products liability actions. She also has served as Regional Counsel on pharmaceutical litigation for a major manufacturer. Her trial experience also includes defense and prosecution of actions for and against companies in disputes arising out of commercial transactions including breach of contract, fraud, and shareholder derivative claims.

RECENT ACTIVITIES
— Served as litigation counsel for life sciences company in major biotech patent litigation.

— Represented Time, Inc. in the defamation lawsuit brought against it by former University of Alabama football coach, Mike Price.

— Recently obtained summary judgment for Medtronic, Inc. in a products liability suit filed in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama.

— Successfully defended Louisiana Pacific in jury trial of sexual harassment claims.

Kim enjoys spending time with her two daughters and husband. Kim is active in the Junior League of Huntsville. She also serves on the Board of the Appleseed Center for Law and Justice and the Boards of the Huntsville Salvation Army and Community Free Clinic.
