Bradley is pleased to announce that Casey L. Miller, an associate in the firm’s Nashville office, has been named as the recipient of Bradley’s 2023 Cameron J. Miller Award for Excellence and Community Service.

The annual award recognizes an associate who exemplifies excellence in his or her legal work coupled with a high degree of involvement in community service for the betterment of the community in which the associate lives and works. The award is named for, and given in memory of, Cameron Miller, who passed away in June 2012 after battling cancer during his first year as an attorney at Bradley.

The award includes a donation to a charity in Mr. Miller’s memory. This year, a $10,500 charitable donation will be made to the Nashville Humane Association, the organization selected by Ms. Miller.

“We are proud to honor Casey with this award for all of the great work she does for our firm and our clients, as well as her commitment and passion for serving her community,” said Bradley Chairman of the Board and Managing Partner Jonathan M. Skeeters. “Casey helps to carry on Cam’s legacy of community service and legal excellence.”

Ms. Miller is a member of the firm’s Litigation Practice Group, representing clients in a variety of commercial litigation and dispute resolution matters. Her diverse practice is focused on business tort litigation, contract disputes, fiduciary-duty claims involving corporate directors and officers, intellectual property litigation, securities litigation, disputes over non-compete and non-solicitation agreements, and real estate litigation.

Ms. Miller has taken on numerous leadership roles within the Nashville Bar Association Young Lawyer’s Division (YLD), where she will serve as president of the organization in 2024, and DRI Young Lawyers, where she serves on the Steering Committee. Her many philanthropic and leadership efforts have been recognized with various awards and honors, including the Enterprise Award, which was awarded to Ms. Miller by the YLD in both 2018 and 2019. She also was honored by the Tennessee Supreme Court Access to Justice Commission as a 2020 “Attorney for Justice” in recognition of her pro bono service and was honored by the Tennessee chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation as one of Nashville’s “Top 30 Under 30” in 2019. Ms. Miller served a three-year term on the Associate Board of Junior Achievement of Middle Tennessee and now serves on the Board of Directors for Studio Tenn Theatre Company. She also participated in the Nashville Arts & Business Council’s Arts Board Matching Class of 2022 and the Nashville Bar Foundation’s Leadership Forum in 2019.

In addition to her community service, Ms. Miller serves the firm as a volunteer for the firm’s Black-Owned Small Business & Nonprofit Clinic, where Bradley attorneys provide business-related legal advice to small business owners and nonprofit leaders. She is also the business development committee chair for the Winn Initiative, the women’s resource group within the firm.

Bradley established the Cameron J. Miller Award for Excellence and Community Service in conjunction with Mr. Miller’s parents, Frank and Alice Miller, and family friends, Charlie and Sheri Perry, along with their daughter Katherine. Through the award, Mr. Miller’s contributions and service to the firm and the community will continue to be recognized in a tangible way.
