A Look Back at Alabama’s Deadliest Air Crash
On July 10, 1991, a commuter plane flying out of New Orleans crashed into two houses in a Birmingham neighborhood. According to an FAA investigation, the crash happened at 6:11 p.m. when the plane’s crew lost control while attempting to land during a thunderstorm. L’Express Flight 508 was carrying 13 passengers and two crew members – only the captain and one passenger, Bradley attorney Mabry Rogers, survived.
